World News with Diane Sawyer ran this story last night, Tuesday, July 10th. There have been other small apartments and tiny homes showcased on the news but they are relatively rare on a national news show. Here are some others that have aired on ABC News.
With a blog named Simple Black Coffee how could I not write a quick post about the logo change Starbucks is making.
One news source reports…
Prior versions of the logo helped build Starbucks into one of the world’s best recognized brands, and the company felt it no longer needed to reinforce its name at every turn. The new wordless logo also is better suited to the company’s expansion beyond coffee into a wider array of business lines and into more international markets.
Starbucks looked to companies like Nike Inc. and Apple Inc., which had earned the clout with consumers to drop the words from their logos.
Shouldn’t we all be so lucky that our brands -personal or corporate- be so well known that we could eliminate the name of the company.
I dunno, it’s a little strange to see just the siren, but I’ll get used to it.
*Walmart (previously known as Wal*Mart) has redesigned their store brand products. I like that the labels now sport a simple, minimal design versus the picture design they used to use. While this syrup bottle does look good with the new white label the design loses some effect when used on a larger object like a cereal box…just too much white, and frankly too simple. Oh well, it’s a start.
